Topshop Mom Jeans Review: Looking For a Perfect Pair of Jeans
Hi. My review is about Moto Mom Jeans from Topshop.
Mom jeans became popular several years ago. They seemed a bit weird to me at first because I used to wear only skinny jeans. I constantly saw mom jeans on bloggers, models, and celebrities. Eventually, I fell in love with them because they make you look more feminine and shape to your hips. I also like that they have high a waist, which makes your legs longer. Photos from the Internet inspired me to start looking for my perfect pair of mom jeans.
I found a pair of mom jeans on the Topshop website. I don’t have Topshop in my city, so I bought them online. Thanks to Topshop for free shipping, free returns, and a 10% discount to students.
Recently I’ve purchased and written a review about a pair of mom jeans from Asos.
I’d never owned a pair of Topshop jeans, so I wasn’t sure what size to order. I read reviews on the Topshop website about various mom jeans, and they were controversial. I decided to order jeans in a bigger size just in case. I was very excited about the jeans and couldn’t wait for them to arrive. Unfortunately, they were too big for me, and I had to return them.
These jeans are called Moto Summer Sulphur jeans. On my monitor on a pic from the Topshop website, I see them as blue with white undertones. In reality, the jeans are darker; they are blue with gray undertones. We all have different settings, and I know that my computer doesn’t show colors in a proper way. On your monitor you may see colors differently.
I like how the jeans are dyed. If you look at photos from the 90s, you see that back then mom jeans were the same color. Topshop Mom jeans have a lighter color in the middle of the legs and darker color on the sides. They have this whiskering effect. Basically, it works by contouring your body and helps you look skinnier. I’d recommend looking for a pair of jeans with a similar effect rather than one color.
The jeans are of good quality. The stitches are done carefully. They are 100% cotton and are thick. They do not stretch. They have a small rip on the left leg, but it isn’t a hole. I like that the jeans don’t have holes so that you can wear them in the winter (I have cold winters in my city).
Since I bought a bigger size, they look baggy on me. But I can still say that the jeans are a bit baggy in general, and they wouldn’t fit you tightly. They are very similar to those jeans which were popular in the 90s. They are real mom jeans.
I took a look at photos of other Moto mom jeans on the Topshop website, and I think that they would have the same fit as these jeans. What do you think? Maybe you have tried them on?
These jeans are W28 size and L32 (length). Their tag says “W71 cm to fut L81 cm.”
Here are the measurements of the jeans:
Waist (lying flat): 13.6 inch/34 cm
Rise at the front: 11.25 inch/29 cm
Rise at the bottom: 13.75 inch /35 cm
Thigh: 11.5 inch/29 cm
Inseam 28 inch/ 71 cm
The jeans are supposed to be a bit short, and you can also roll them up.
I am giving you my measurements so that you can compare it with yours. My waist is 25.75 inch (65 cm), my hips are 36 inch (91 cm), and I am 5.5 ft (168 cm).
How to Wear Mom Jeans.
There is an endless amount of ways to style mom jeans. Basically, just like any jeans you can wear them with everything. I made a comfy look with a jacket, white shirt, and loafers.
High-waisted mom jeans are great because you can pair them with crop tops and show just a tiny strip of your stomach. I’ve made two looks.
Let’s go sporty and pair mom jeans with a crop top, white slip-ons and bright backpack.
For a night out, I’d pair mom jeans with a lace crop top, heels, and a clutch. I really like how the purple top looks with the purple shoes and the mint clutch. Both colors are pastel and they match each other. Silver shoes would be a great decision as well.
