L’Oreal Voluminous Original Mascara Review
If someone asks me what are 3 products I need the most for my makeup, I would say mascara, brow shadow, and concealer. Mascara helps me to open up the eyes and makes them brighter. I use it everyday, and it is important to me to have a mascara of good quality. For everyday use, I don’t need mascara with a dramatic effect; I simply want it to give some volume and length to my lashes. My other requirements are:
easy to remove
Since I change mascara every 3-6 months, I want to find one that doesn’t cost a fortune. So I tried L’Oreal Voluminous Original Mascara and am sharing my review about it.
I also have a review about my favorite Clinique High Impact Mascara.
I have the mascara from L’Oreal in black, which has a pretty standard wand. Actually, I prefer this type of brush over anything else. When I apply mascara, it gets on my lid, but this happens with every brand I’ve tried. I think it depends on how you do it and may not happen with everyone.
I like that Voluminous Original Mascara has panthenol among the list of its ingredients. Panthenol is a provitam B5 that moisturizes the lashes.
The mascara is placed in a plastic tube. There is 0.28 fl. oz. (8 ml) of the product. It is made in the U.S.
The mascara is said to be voluminous. Indeed, it adds volume to my lashes of medium length and dark color and makes them longer. It also curls them. For this photo, I purposely didn’t curl my lashes so that you could see what the mascara was capable of doing.
I always wipe the brush before applying any mascara, which helps me to have the right amount of the product. With the one layer of Voluminous Original Mascara from L’Oreal my lashes look separated but a bit clumpy, which you can see in the photo. I think the reason why that happens is that even new mascara is thick. It is easy to apply the second layer that makes the lashes thicker, but at the same time they are sticking together.
The mascara feels comfortable on the lashes and wears well throughout the day. It doesn’t flake. One negative is that it’s difficult to remove it. I tried micellar water from Garnier and Clean Artiste Waterproof and Long Wearing Eye Makeup Remover from L’Oreal. And none of those products completely removed it. It is a big disadvantage for me because I don’t want to rub my eyes intensively.
Summarizing all the pros and cons, I give the mascara 7/10. It is a good mascara for its price, but for me it didn’t become a product that I can use everyday.
