How to Wear Flare Jeans: Outfits and Tips
With the revival of the 70s, flare jeans have become a trendy piece again. In magazines and on the Internet, I see more and more fashionastas wearing them, which inspired me to buy a pair of flare jeans. Actually, in order to get the perfect pair of flares, there are several secrets that you need to know.
How to Choose the Perfect Pair of Flare Jeans
First of all, their length is important. They should be long so that they cover your shoes and almost lie on the floor. If you wear the jeans with heeled shoes, it will make your legs look longer—so cool! So you should tailor your flare jeans for a specific heel height. Make sure that the material almost touches the ground; this will help to create the illusion.
When I bought my pair of flare jeans, they were too long, so I tailored them. I wear them with two pairs of booties that have the same height as heels. I do not wear the jeans with flat shoes because they are too long, nor do I wear them with higher heels since it looks weird.
Secondly, flare jeans should fit you tightly in the hips and thighs like skinny jeans. And the flare should start from the knee.
In my opinion, pointy or almond toe shoes are best to wear with flare jeans because people can see a small part of your shoes. For example, you may have dark blue flare jeans and pink shoes. This little detail will make your outfit more exciting and fun. If you wear flares with round-toe shoes, usually the shoes are hidden underneath the jeans, and it seems that you have no feet—a little strange.
How I Wear my Flare Jeans. My Outfits
Flare jeans are associated with hippies and boho style. When I want to get such a look, I pair my jeans with a flower-printed tunic and purse with fringe.
If I want to make my outfit more modern, I wear the jeans with a t-shirt and biker jacket or a lace tank top.
